Here at Lena Quist we do no believe in overflowing the planet with unloved garments. All garments are made to order, in-house produced, with the designer herself involved in the making of each and every garment, if not directly so by supervision. It ensures a high quality control while the customer can rest assured the designs are ethically made.
We are trying to source the best material options possible to make your performance costumes not just stand out and make an impression, but also be durable and to last for many performances. Therefore we have settled for a nylon/spandex mixture in a 4-way stretch that allows full movement while also being able to withstand the pressure of an intense performance act.
Due to the nature of synthetic materials we are trying to minimise the waste we produce, saving and using scraps when smaller pieces of fabrics are needed. This does in no way affect the quality of your costume, it only assures a lower carbon footprint goes into the making of your garment.
We kindly ask our customers to not over-wash the clothes. Nylon may shed microplastic particles when washed, and the top coating of the fabric has a longer lifespan if the garment is aired after use rather than washed after every occasion it is worn.
At Lena Quist we believe in education and we want to be a part of the solution, not the problem. We are constantly working to improve our products and reduce our carbon emissions, scouting better material options to bring you the best costumes possible, that you can love and use again and again.
